How Does the Implant Procedure Work?
A dental implant gives you a strong new tooth root made of titanium. It acts as a base for a custom-made dental crown, or it can support a bridge or denture.
Our implant procedure includes these steps:
- Surgery: We will refer you to one of our Oral Surgery specialists in the valley to implant a titanium post in your jawbone.
- Recovery: You’ll go home to heal. Your jaw will be stimulated to bond with the implant, creating a secure new root.
- Restoration: You’ll come back in to get your custom-made, color-matched replacement tooth attached to your dental implant. We’ll make sure it looks great and works just like a natural tooth.
- Ongoing Care: We’ll keep checking on you to make sure you’re comfortable with your restored tooth and that your oral health is top-notch.
After you get your restored tooth, you’ll be able to chew, brush, floss, and speak normally again!
If you’re interested in implants to support dentures, let us know. Implants can stop dentures from slipping or clicking, which can help you avoid the pain and embarrassment that sometimes come with traditional dentures.
